In April, Earth Day is in the spotlight

On April 22nd, it will be the Earth Day, which marks every year the foundation of this environmental movement created in 1970. On this occasion, many events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. At the clinic, the wallpaper of the month, created by Tonwen Jones, is inspired by this event. We invite you to participate in the way of your choice to this great cause. Let's be conscious and active everyday, and love our planet!

Libresse / Amsterdam

Mydeadpony created the visuals for the Libresse Campaign as well as for a limited edition tins for Libresse (female hygiene brand). The brief consisted in translating the 5 senses into feminine, colorful illustrations.

Damien Vignaux / Libresse TV spot

Damien Vignaux animated the illustrations created by Mydeadpony for a TV spot for Libresse broadcasted in Eastern Europe.

New illustrator / Paris

We are pleased to announce the addition of a new artist at the clinic. Shane lives and works in Paris. He is talented and is only 23. However, he has been present in the graffiti world for a long time. Sensible to the aesthetic around him, and more specifically to graphic design, he has various sources of inspiration: classic painting, aesthetics of the 50’s, colors, comics, engraving … His techniques are also diversified such as ink pen, Illustrator, colored pencils, spray paint, paint, Photoshop, etc.

Nazario Graziano is an illustrator, but also a graphic designer. He created many album artworks and music posters. Here is a good example of his work that seduced us at the clinic. It is for the album "Per fortuna dormo poco" by Italian songwriter Tommaso Di Giulio.

David Despau / ESPN Magazine + personal researches

David Despau created 4 illustrations of famous sport athletes for the article " War is the answer" in the Analytics issue of ESPN magazine.

He also shares with us a series of personal illustrations that he named "Legend Sneakers"; a mix between legendary sport shoes and renowned people. 

Jérôme Mireault / Personal researches

Jérôme Mireault is from the Province of Quebec, and in Quebec right now, the heat is scarce. He unveils this personal work and explains his approach: "to limit the details and to focus on the colors, in order to bring a little cheerfulness because of the springtime that is slow to arrive."

For the Style Notes section, Mydeadpony had to create illustrations of sort of collages based on imagery from the Fashion weeks highlights recently happening in New York, London, Milan and Paris.

"Earth Passion" wallpaper to download / Quebec, Canada

The wallpaper this month, about the theme of Earth Day, has been illustrated by Tonwen Jones. Tonwen is British and is living by the sea in Brghton. Don't hesitate to share the wallpaper to others in order to make them also discover her oneiric world consisting of a mix of hand drawing and collage.

Silke Werzinger / Made in Germany news! / Berlin

You will find here few last creations of Silke Werzinger in Germany. The first and the last one are part of a series of horoscope illustrations for the German magazine Maxi. She has worked on the horoscope section every month for one year.

Illustration 2 and 3 have been created for the German magazine Musikexpress, which is a music magazine, on the theme: Pop Poll 2012. The magazine asked its readers about their favorite artists/persons/movies/events in 2012.

Illustration 4 has been created for the Berlin based PR agency Zucker on the themes Sport/Fashion/Lifestyle.

Advanced roughs for client presentation / Montreal

Here is a series of vector style icons illustrations by Ross Cuthbert for an advertising agency's client presentation. Ross's work is usually quite realistic with 3D or traditional hand-drawing renderings.

Jérôme Mireault / Colby Magazine / Waterville, ME

For an article about a woman who is taking a mathematical approach to her fight against cancer, Jérôme Mireault had to illustrate a hand-drawn diagram with a chalkboard style of the different parts of the woman's life and her support systems: family, friends, doctors, fellow Colby alumni.

CAA-Quebec / Montreal

In the context of the "antistress" campaign created by the ad agency of emergency road service and advisory services company CAA-Quebec, Karl Dupéré-Richer did an illustrated series of little elements for the interactive website carteantistress.ca. On the homepage of this website, each of these little drawings goes with a small text which describes a "no-stress" benefit to be a CAA-Quebec member. So, among about fifty potential benefits, three intruders are hiding and the user will have to find them all to be able to enter a contest.

Here are some black and white illustrated frames from Camille Corbetto's last storyboards. Camille joined Colagene's storyboarders team 2 years ago. Her drawing style and her professionalism have convinced few well-known agencies.

Hypercity for the magazine Com'Ent / Paris

Kelly Schykulski illustrated the cover and articles of the last issue about hypercity in Com'Ent Magazine of the Communication and Business association in France. This magazine aims to increase the thinking on evolution and current communication trends. To learn more consult the magazine.

Experimentation for the fashion industry! / Paris

Ëlodie gets inspired by the flowering and the environment for her fashion researches. "I enjoyed myself and I had tried to accentuate to the maximum the textures about the bag that can be found on the online shop Sacha", explains Ëlodie. The other illustration, in the way of a lookbook, is inspired by the campaigns and collections of the brand Chloé.

Fédération Française de la Randonnée Pédestre's press kit / France

Adam James Turnbull immersed himself for a few weeks in the world of hiking by creating 12 illustrations for the press kit Vivez votre aventure (Live your adventure) of the FFR French Federation of hiking.

Quebec Science Magazine / Montreal

After the map of Florida, it is now the turn of the North of Quebec's map that Katrinn Pelletier illustrated for the very last issue of the Quebec Science Magazine. This publication is especially about this huge area where are living mostly native people and which is also coveted for its natural resources.

Reader's Digest Magazine / Montreal

Sonia Roy did two vintage collage illustrations for the article: Sight Unseen published in the April issue of the Rearder's Digest Magazine. One of the collage illustrations shows a portrait of Helen Keller, a famous American writer who lived deaf-mute and blind. The article is an extract of one of her publication and put the emphasis on the capacity to enjoy the beauty of the world through one of the 5 senses: the sight. The author also wrote what she would do if she was given the ability to see during three days.
